Rod and Pam have returned from their tripping around and while away, by all accounts, Prue did an amazing job of running the Park.

Rod is originally from the bush where he was a jackeroo before being called up for National Service and spending a stint in Vietnam.  He returned to Thylungra near Quilpie after his discharge from the army then went on to manage and own properties in Western Queensland.  It is his experiences in the bush and the army that Rod draws the material from, for his many stories around the campfire at Happy Hour.   He can also turn out a pretty good damper when we have our camp oven stew nights.

Pam has a background in newspapers and advertising so uses her skills to run the office and organise events. It doesn’t take much at Standown to find an excuse to celebrate something. 

Having lived in this area for over 10 years now, Rod and Pam have a wealth of local knowledge to share with you to help make your visit more interesting and enjoyable.
